Serial Publication

Serial (Season 1) is a popular podcast series from the creators of This American Life, detailing the murder and subsequent mystery of Hae Min Lee, a high school senior in Baltimore, MD. Designed to accompany the audio, this print publication is a transcription of the 5th episode in the series; a particularly analytical episode detailing the conflicting timelines and divergent accounts of what happened on the day of Hae’s disappearance. The challenge was to simplify these tangential narratives, allowing readers to more easily draw conclusions. A timeline informs the reader of their position in the narrative, while skewed imagery points to the haziness of the account.
